The wiring should be designed based on specific conditions such as line requirements, load types, and site environment, and corresponding wiring schemes should be formulated. Appropriate wiring methods and approaches should be adopted. At the same time, the following general principles should be followed.


1. Select the appropriate conductors
The requirements for conductors include both electrical and mechanical properties. The current-carrying capacity of the conductors should meet the requirements of the line load and leave a certain margin. The conductors should have sufficient voltage resistance and insulation properties, as well as adequate mechanical strength. Generally, plastic-sheathed conductors are commonly used for indoor wiring.

2. Minimize the use of wire joints in wiring
When wiring, it is advisable to use complete wires with intact insulation layers and connect them all at once at the end. Try to avoid wire joints in the wiring process. Because wire joints often lead to increased contact resistance and decreased insulation performance, which pose potential faults for the circuit. If the wiring is concealed (in fact, most indoor wiring is concealed), once a fault such as poor contact or leakage occurs at the joint, it is very difficult to locate and repair. Necessary joints should be placed in junction boxes, switch boxes, lamp head boxes or socket boxes.

3. The wiring should be sturdy and aesthetically pleasing.
For exposed wire laying, the path of the wires should be kept straight and level, and firmly fixed. For concealed wire laying, the wires generally should also run horizontally or vertically. When the wires pass through walls or floors, protective sleeves should be installed. During the laying process, be sure not to damage the insulation layer of the wires.
